myNCBar - What is the new myNCBar Page?

“myNCBar” is a member’s personalized portal to NCBA membership information and Internet research. It provides access to member-specific CLE, communications, personal data, and areas of interest, as well as the option to create a personal list of Internet resources in "myResources".

myNCBar” is a member’s personalized portal to NCBA membership information and Internet research.  It provides access to member-specific CLE, communications, personal data, and areas of interest, as well as the option to create a personal list of Internet resources in "myResources".

We recommend that you frequently visit this important part of the NCBA's Web site to:

  • find out what kind of personalized information and services are available
  • make sure that your membership information is current AND
  • see if any new portal features have been added.

The features currently available to members are:

  1. myCalendar lists the latest NCBA events, announcements, and other happenings. This new feature will be updated in the future with links to a master calendar that automatically display member-specific events based on your section and division membership.
  2. myCLE includes the following sub-sections:
    1. myPrograms allows members to view CLE Programs available based on their section and division membership.  All of the sections and divisions that you belong to are automatically displayed with links to related CLE Programs.
    2. myPublications allows members to view CLE Publications available based on their section and division membership.  All of the sections and divisions that you belong to are automatically displayed with links to related CLE Publications.
  3. myCommunications includes the following sub-sections:
    1. myLISTSERVs allows you to verify the section and division LISTSERVs that you are eligible to participate in.  All of the sections and divisions that you currently belong to are automatically displayed with links to each LISTSERV archive, which can only be accessed by LISTSERV participants.
    2. myNewsletters allows members to change subscription options for electronically transmitted documents including NCBA eNewsletters (e-bar, CeLEeView, CLE Marketing, Legislative Bulletin) AND NCBA Section and Division Newsletters.  Be advised, the Newsletters for ALL of the sections and divisions that you belong to should be automatically displayed.  NOTE:
      1. If members unsubscribe from an "electronic and print" newsletter they will only receive a printed newsletter.  They will also not receive an automated e-mail notification when the eNewsletter is available online. However, they can still search and review eNewsletters on their section’s/ ivision's online Web site.
      2. If members unsubscribe from an "electronic only" newsletter they will not receive an automated e-mail notification when the eNewsletter is available online.  However, they can still search and review eNewsletters on their section’s/division's online Web site.
      3. Members can resubscribe to any eNewsletter at any time on the “myNewsletters” page.
  4. myLRS includes the following sub-section:
    1. myReferrals allows (panel) members that participate in the NCBA's Legal Referral Service (LRS) program the ability to review all of the referrals they have received during the past two (2) years.  The referrals include those received from the NCBA's Call Center and NC Find-a-Lawyer web-based application.
  5. myProfile/Interests includes the following sub-sections:
    1. myAccount provides options to create a custom user name and password for logging in, changing your e-mail address, and creating a “forum” alias and signature to use on the NCBA online discussion forums.  NOTE:
      1. The login and forum user changes are done within minutes.
      2. The e-mail address change will be reviewed by NCBA staff members for quality assurance purposes before being added to the NCBA's membership database.
      3. E-mail address change requests normally take 1-2 business days to complete, however this process will be automated in the future to enable near real-time member information updates.
    2. myProfile allows members to review and update their membership data in the Association Management System (AMS) database.  Your current membership data is pre-populated AND it is very important to keep this information current so you receive timely notifications about your NCBA member services and events.  NOTE:
      1. Data change requests are reviewed by NCBA staff members for quality assurance purposes before being added to the NCBA's membership database.
      2. Change requests normally take 1-2 business days to complete, however this process will be automated in the future to enable near real-time member information updates.
    3. myMembership allows members to verify Section and Division membership(s)ALL of the sections and divisions that you belong to are automatically displayed with links to each.  NOTE:
      1. Please contact the NCBA Section's department if any of your sections or divisions are not listed on this page.
      2. You can join a Section or Division by clicking HERE.
  6. myResources provides a link to popular NCBA Internet links.  It also allows members to add links to their favorite Internet references.  These personal Internet links can be added, deleted or edited at anytime, and they will be listed alphabetically for future reference.
