FONT - Can you change the font and font size of the Web site's text?

YES, two of the main goals of the NCBA's Web site redesign was to standardize the format of the web site AND to make sure that it was compatible with the majority of our member's Web browser and operating system software.

Two of the main goals of the NCBA's Web site redesign was to standardize the format of the Web site AND to make sure that it was compatible with the majority of our member's web browser and operating system software.  The NCBA's Web site is best viewed on a 17" monitor with 800 x 600 pixels resolution, which is the current industry standard.  The font and font size were also standardized throughout the NCBA's Web site, which allows visitors to change them if you feel that some of the text is too small.  The two options for increasing the size of the Web site text in recommended order are:

Option #1 – Change the Web Browser Font

NOTE: Using this option will only change the size of the Font on your browser. It will NOT change the image display size, thus causing you to view the page in a different manner then it was designed to be viewed.

Changing the Web Browser Font in Internet Explorer

1. The first thing you have to do is change the formatting settings in the Web Browser.

a. Open “Internet Explorer
b. Select “Internet Options…” from the “Tools” menu on the toolbar.

c. Select the “Accessibility…” button

d. Ensure “Ignore font sizes specified on the Web Pages” is checked.
e. Select “OK” twice.

2. Then you need to change the Text Size.

a. Select “Text Size” from the “View” menu on the top toolbar.

b. Make a selection from the following:

i. Largest
ii. Larger
iii. Medium
iv. Smaller
v. Smallest

NOTE: The font will change as you select each one, repeat steps F and G until you select your desired Font Size.

Change the Web Browser Font in Netscape

1. Open “Netscape
2. Select “Preferences…
from the “Edit” menu on the toolbar

3. Expand “Appearance” if not already expanded
4. Select “Fonts

5. Change the “Minimum Font Size:

6. Select “OK

NOTE: The font will change each time you select “OK”, repeat steps 2 through 6 until your desired Font Size appears.

Option #2 – Changing your Screen Resolution

1. Right click on your computers desktop area.
2. Select “Properties

3. Select the “Settings” tab

4. Adjust the “Screen Area” lower to "800x600"
5. Select “OK
