Web Site FAQs
The “look and feel” of the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) Web site underwent a significant change in 2004. The “feel”, encompassed in the site’s conversion to Microsoft’s .Net framework was changed in March. The “look”, addressed in the second redesign of the entire site in three years and the implementation of Web portal functionality where member’s can access member-specific information and customizable resources was completed in June.
What does all of this mean to NCBA members? Conversion to .Net – a platform for building, displaying and running web services and applications – made the site easier to search, update, and maintain. The section and division pages were totally revamped into a community format with common features and section-/division-specific information. The second phase of the upgrade included a redesign of the entire Web site to a more member-friendly format with improved site navigation and Association Management System (AMS) integration including member-specific features in the “myNCBar” portal. “myNCBar” provides access to member-specific CLE, communications, personal data, and areas of interest, as well as the option to create a personal list of Internet resources in "myResources". We recommend that you visit this important part of the NCBA Web site to find out what kind of personalized information and services are available, AND to make sure that your membership information is current. We also encourage you to check this area periodically to see if any new portal features have been added.
The following list of questions provides information about the NCBA's Web site. Please review them and forward comments or additional questions to ncba@ncbar.org.
